Greater respect for road rules
On Friday, 5 May 2006, 915 learners from Gauteng's taxi industry received certificates in customer care, business and professional driving from the Minister of Transport, Jeff Radebe, at a special function in Johannesburg to mark their significant achievement. To date, more than R36 million has been invested by the Department of Labour and the Transport Education and Training Authority in training for the taxi industry, ahead of the country's hosting of the 2010 Soccer World Cup.
