We are seeking a skilled data analyst and visualisation specialist to develop insightful dashboards, support data engineering processes, and ensure database efficiency. This role is ideal for someone with expertise in SQL and Google Looker Studio, coupled with a strong understanding of data analysis, visualisation, and relational databases.

Key responsibilities

Data analysis and visualisation

• Develop and maintain reports and dashboards in Google Looker Studio to monitor KPIs and provide actionable insights.
• Write and execute SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyse data from multiple sources.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data needs and create impactful visualisations.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data in reports and dashboards.

Data engineering support

• Assist data engineers in designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines.
• Contribute to the development of data quality checks and validation procedures.
• Support troubleshooting of data issues and suggest improvements for data processes.

Database management

• Assist with database tasks, including data modelling, performance tuning, and ensuring data security.
• Work with the data engineer to ensure data governance and compliance with data privacy regulations.

Qualifications

Essential skills and experience

• Proficiency in SQL, including querying, data manipulation, and aggregation.
• Hands-on experience with Google Looker Studio for creating reports, dashboards, and data connections.
• Strong understanding of relational databases and data warehousing concepts.
• Knowledge of best practices in data visualisation.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Desirable skills

• Experience with data pipeline tools.
• Knowledge of Python or similar scripting languages for data automation.
• Familiarity with cloud-based platforms such as Google Cloud Platform or AWS.
• Experience working in an agile development environment.
