GreenCape’s energy programme is seeking a senior analyst: sustainable mobility to lead projects in the South African mobility sector. This dynamic and internationally recognised programme engages with stakeholders across government, private sectors, and civil society to drive meaningful impact in Africa’s energy and mobility future. The senior analyst will provide technical and economic expertise, fostering growth and innovation in the mobility market. The role offers opportunities for professional development, global exposure, and contributions to critical green economy initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Stakeholder engagement: Build and maintain relationships across the mobility value chain, identifying barriers and unlocking investment opportunities.
• Market insights: Conduct data collection and analysis to provide valuable insights, supporting investors in informed decision-making.
• Project management: Deliver on both internal and external project milestones, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
• Technical expertise: Respond to stakeholder queries, develop business cases, and contribute to GreenCape’s annual Market Intelligence Reports (See here: https://greencape.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/Electric-Vehicles-digital.pdf) 
• Policy input: Offer formal commentary on draft policies and legislation at national, provincial, and local levels.

In addition to their primary responsibilities, the candidate will collaborate with the GreenCape team, sharing their expertise and contributing to other relevant projects as needed. 

Qualifications and experience

• Education: Postgraduate degree in engineering, economics, finance, or resource management.
• Experience: Minimum of four years in the mobility sector, green technologies, or business development.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of South Africa’s mobility sector, policies, and an established stakeholder network.
• Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking. Analytical and problem-solving abilities. Detail-oriented, with strong project management skills. Proficiency in data analytics and market research. 

This is a full-time contract position, until 31 March 2026. This contract may be renewed to a longer duration subject to GreenCape’s standard contracting conditions. Contract renewal will depend on performance and the organisational requirements. There will be a three-month probation period.
