SA's most valuable brand belongs to TBWA\Hunt\Lascaris

TBWA\Hunt\Lascaris's client Standard Bank has been named South Africa's most valuable brand in the Markinor/Sunday Times Top Brands 2005 awards. It was also announced that the agency produced four of the top six best-liked TV ads in the developed market.

Tastic, another TBWA\Hunt\Lascaris client, was named the number one South African food brand and Tastic's sister brand, All Gold, was described as one of "South Africa's iconic food brands" in the survey.

The MTN Yello Summer campaign, originally created by TBWA\Hunt\Lascaris, topped the list of best liked TV advertisements in the emerging market.

Standard Bank, a client of TBWA\Hunt\Lascaris for 14 years, has been voted the number one financial services brand in the Markinor Brands and Branding Survey for the past seven years and also featured in the Top 10 Most Admired and Trusted South African Brands rankings.

Tastic, whose parent company Tiger Brands has been a TBWA\Hunt\Lascaris client for seven years, has held the position of South Africa's favourite food brand for seven years.

Other brands that performed well following TBWA\Hunt\Lascaris campaigns include BMW, who came second in business to business (cars) and business to consumer categories and the SABC, who came third in terms of brand relationship scores. The brand relationship scores are based on public awareness, trust, confidence and loyalty.

"It's great to be acknowledged by your peers in the industry, but even more so if the recognition comes from the South African public," says Mike Bosman, CEO of TBWA\South Africa.
