Cape Town radio legend Ian Ward passes away

Some sad news in the radio community, veteran radio presenter and One FM 94.0 founder Ian Ward has passed away. He was diagnosed with non-small cell stage 3B lung cancer, last year.

Ward was diagnosed with colon cancer five years ago and went into remission after chemotherapy. He was diagnosed with lung cancer after a bronchoscopy.

Ward founded One FM 94.0, a non-profit community radio station and platform for both seasoned and upcoming radio presenters in Cape Town. He had worked at Cape Town radio stations: Goodhope FM and Heart FM.
