MDPMI to release provisional report on 24 February 2025
The Media and Digital Platforms Market Inquiry (MDPMI) will release its provisional report on 24 February 2025 after over a year of evidence gathering, including hearings, expert submissions, and consumer research.
The inquiry, launched on 17 October 2023 under the Competition Act, examines whether digital platforms distributing news content hinder competition or affect the news media sector in South Africa.
The report launch will take place at 10:30am at the DTIC Campus in Tshwane and will be available online.
The event will be held in a hybrid format and live-streamed on the Competition Commission’s YouTube channel.
