Compiled from contributions from leaders of the media industry, the new textbook has the most up to date compilation of media knowledge, alongside new features such as paper stock, which allows for note taking, simple pagination and chapter synopses.

The editorial board, steered by Luisa Belter, consists of Harry Herber, Melanie Walter, Brad Aigner and Lea van Coller. It has been published to coincide with the 2011 AAA Media Planning module. Once the new textbook is in commission for a year, it will be eligible to be a prescribed as a set book.

Lea van Coller, AMASA Johannesburg's deputy chairperson adds, "The focus of the new study guide hinges on practical guidance and applying the theory to everyday demands in the media industry. We are keen to get the material out to all the curious minds in the industry."
