Secure cellphone chat device launched

A straightforward little device designed to ensure all your mobile phone conversations are protected from phone tapping has been launched by Secusmart, a spin-off company of Nokia, the company announced last week. The device will also, it is claimed, prevent unintentional eavesdropping resulting from crossed lines.

The Secuvoice micro-SD card doubles as an external memory card for your phone, but contains what the company says is foolproof encryption capabilities that scramble the voices of both parties engaged in the conversation and prevent third parties from listening in.

The Secuvoice micro SD card fits into any Nokia E or N series phone, but will soon be rolled-out to other Symbian-based phones, and is available on Vodacom and MTN networks.

The Secusmart technology targets celebrities, politicians, and business people who may be transferring classified information, or ordinary individuals who are concerned for their privacy.
