Hyundai launches second passenger balloon

The new Hyundai passenger balloon was inflated and made operational on Tuesday,11 January 2011, at the entrance to the bird park at Montecasino, Johannesburg, replacing the Absa balloon after the bank's sponsorhip campaign ended. This is Hyundai's second inflatable passenger balloon, following the success of the one over the Mushroom Farm Park in Sandton.

"It is our aim to make our brand as visible as possible and certainly this established space is well recognised by local and international visitors. When the opportunity to sponsor this second passenger balloon was presented to us, we reacted favourably as we believe it continues to help support the company through well placed marketing initiatives that relate back to our brand culture of lifestyle," says Albrecht Grundel, operations director at Hyundai South Africa.

The balloon has the capacity to carry 30 passengers, available to the public on an 'arrive-and-fly' basis or by reservation for special trips or occasions. Additionally, the public are able to book sunrise and sunset cruises, via the booking office. All balloon rides are weather permitting, wheelchair friendly and safe for use by passengers of all ages. Furthermore, the balloon operates seven days a week including public holidays.

"Core to these types of sponsorships, is that we aid the development and conservation of the surrounding areas, extend our greening initiatives and provide the communities wherein the balloons operate with a clean, green environment - which we anticipate as a possibility in the future within the surrounding Montecasino area," concludes Grundel.
