Two international Gold Quills for DevCom

Development Communication Solutions has won two IABC Gold Quill Merit Awards in business communication in the past week. Both DevCom and Mari Lee, CEO of DevCom – who was also awarded the scholarship to represent the Africa Chapter in New York – will be recognised during IABC's international conference in New York City at the Gold Quill gala dinner on 23 June 2008.

“This just confirmed that South Africa business communication can compete on an international level and I will proudly represent our country and Africa in New York knowing this fact,” said an overwhelmed Lee.

The one Quill has been awarded for the category Employee/Member communication for the project named ‘Preparing Child Welfare Tshwane internally for external greatness'. The other category won is Brand Communication, with the project named ‘A Social Brand Transformation – to care for communities'.

After DevCom won these two categories in the IABC African region in the communication management division in October last year, it automatically qualified for the international awards and went on to win it. Previous winners in the communication management division include Heineken, Unilever, McDonald's and Eskom.

DevCom is a Gauteng-based communication agency using the power of communication to transform the social profit industry. They work with non-profit and for-profit clients using business communication skills to prepare them internally for external greatness and cross the communication gap with creativity and effectiveness.
