COMMUNICATE feedback...

Comments streamed in following on the launch of COMMUNICATE last month in a joint venture between Bizcommunity.com and Editor, Louise Marsland.

The overwhelming response from the industry so far is that an independent, professional media for public relations practitioners/communications professionals is long overdue. The magazines that used to serve the industry have fallen by the wayside over the years, for various reasons. With the popularity of electronic newsletters (ezines) gaining ground as the preferred method of business communication, it seemed ideal to launch Communicate at this time in ezine format.

Ezines are an instant media, accessible, easily consumed, and can be launched and grown relatively easily into a more frequent, expanded news service. As demand from the industry grows through subscribers and editorial contributions, and advertising support gains momentum, Communicate will also grow.

It is also the most suitable media for debate and information sharing, with comments logged and captured easily on the Bizcommunity.com news portal, to stimulate debate.

Thanks to everyone for their comments and feedback - keep them coming:

Kate Bapela, APR, PRISA President:

I thought it would be proper for me to congratulate you on this inspiring initiative. It is encouraging to observe that we have professionals who don't only moan but do something about the image of the PR and communication management profession.

Themba Tholo, Communications Officer, Department of Finance and Economic Affairs
