Repo Agent / External Debt Collector

Key responsibilities:

Tracing and locating:

• Conduct field visits to locate debtors and confirm addresses.
• Use skip-tracing tools, databases, and investigative techniques to find debtors who have moved or changed contact details.

Debt recovery and negotiation:

• Engage with debtors professionally to negotiate repayment arrangements.
• Educate debtors on their financial obligations and the consequences of non-payment.
• Obtain and process signed acknowledgements of debt where necessary.

Reporting and documentation:

• Maintain accurate records of debtor interactions, payment agreements, and follow-ups.
• Provide daily or weekly reports to management on collections progress.
• Adhere to legal and ethical guidelines in all interactions.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with internal collection agents, legal teams, and external stakeholders.
• Escalate cases where legal action is required.

Key requirements:

Education and experience:

• Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent.
• Previous experience in car sales, debt collection, tracing, or field investigations is advantageous.
• A valid driver's licence and a reliable vehicle are essential.
• Smartphone and own Samsung 10.1-inch tablet.
