Senior Finance Manager

Job description

Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Senior Finance Manager to lead our finance department and drive financial excellence across the business. This is a critical leadership role reporting directly to the CEO, responsible for overseeing all financial operations, managing a dynamic finance team, and ensuring robust financial controls are in place to support our ambitious growth trajectory.

The ideal candidate will have solid experience in the Below-the-Line (BTL) marketing or experiential agency environment and a strong working knowledge of Chase expense management software.

Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and manage the finance team to ensure efficient day-to-day operations.
• Oversee all financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to the CEO and key stakeholders.
• Implement and maintain robust internal controls and financial policies.
• Manage supplier payments, reconciliations, and vendor relationships.
• Oversee payroll processing, BA wages, and staff expense claims.
• Drive process improvements and efficiencies within the finance function.
• Support project profitability analysis and job costing accuracy.

Typical activities:

• Review and approve expense submissions and POs within the Chase system.
• Reconcile accounts and ensure alignment between Chase and Xero.
• Prepare and present monthly financial reports and analysis.
• Coordinate with project managers on cost estimates and budget tracking.
• Manage weekly BA wage processing and payment approvals.
• Ensure compliance with B-BBEE, tax, and regulatory requirements.
• Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and financial partners.
• Support month-end and year-end closing procedures.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a business-related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of finance management experience.
• Experience working in the BTL/Experiential marketing or agency environment is essential.
• Proficiency in Chase expense management software is essential.
• Working knowledge of Xero accounting software (advantageous).
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
