The experienced qualified (CA) Finance Executive with 10+ years’ experience (5+ years at senior management level) will be responsible for overseeing the Finance areas of the business to ensure these functions are running at an optimum resulting in operational excellence.

The position is based fulltime in Atlantis, WC. This is an office-based position, Monday – Friday. Should the person not be residing already in Cape Town, then relocation will be a requirement. This role will report directly to the COO and form part of the executive team. The individual must be an active registered SAICA member and have a strong business acumen and an operational mindset. Strategic thinking with a keen focus on key performance indicators.

Prior experience working in a local manufacturing environment is key for this role with a solid understanding of SKUs, raw materials etc. A proven track record of developing and executing financial strategies that drive profitability and sustainable growth. Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a medium size team is key. The person must be able to speak / understand both English and Afrikaans languages. Must have they own car and valid drivers license to travel to the various branches.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Responsible for the financial management and strategic direction of the company
• Adept at optimising cost structures, implementing risk mitigation strategies, and ensuring compliance with financial commitments and forecasts.
• Highly skilled in CRM implementation and utilisation
• Building and implementation of forecast plans, business strategy and Opex control.
• Assess company performance in relation to annual budget and strategy.
• Prepare financial models to evaluate the financial viability and conduct the necessary due diligence to inform the decision making.
• Involvement with contract negotiations and SLAs
• Identifying and assessing business risk, within the portfolio, and ensure the implementation of necessary controls in mitigation.
• Oversee the finance department for the company. To drive high performance within the Finance function with a focus on teamwork and accountability, to deliver commercial performance in order to exceed the financial targets and positively contribute to working capital efficiency.

Minimum requirements for the role:

• Qualified CA and registered SAICA member
• BCom Honours and or relevant qualifications.
• MBA – would be advantageous
• 10+ years of finance experience
• Ideal industry experience: Manufacturing. All other industries will be a consideration
• PC Literate: MS Office: Excel Advanced / Syspro / CRMs
• Strong business acumen and industry expertise
• Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization
• Excellent mentoring, coaching and people management skills
• Commercial minded with track record of delivering improvements and managing third party/vendor performance
• Budget and financial planning
