Two new appointments at Instant Grass

Ningi Mhinga has been appointed account manager with youth connectivity and trendspotting agency, Instant Grass, in their Johannesburg office. Mhinga's relationship with Instant Grass began almost four years ago when he was selected as one of their first 'grasses' or trend spies.

Mhinga then left to study a BA in corporate communication and is currently completing his postgraduate diploma in marketing whilst working under Instant Grass's director, Greg Maloka.

Three and a half years ago, Instant Grass who were just starting out, identified him as their first black 'grass'. He was originally selected because of his interests in the music, eventing and fashion industries and has since featured as one of Louis Vuitton's and GQ's most stylish men of South Africa.

Shirley Wakefield has been appointed as account director at their Cape Town office. Shirley also has a long running history with Instant Grass dating back four years as one of the companies first 'grasses'.

After completing a BCom Marketing in industrial psychology and financial management from the University of Stellenbosch, Shirley spent the following two years travelling abroad, working as a chef in Greece and in the French Alps, then teaching English in Thailand, finally ending up in London in the health food industry as the marketer for a well known health food chain.

Shirley will be responsible for managing and growing relationships with existing and new business clients.
