The New Age welcomes Lead SA campaign

The New Age has today, Thursday, 5 August 2010, congratulated Primedia Broadcasting and Independent Newspapers for their Lead SA campaign, describing it as an "example of the philosophy and vision" advocated by the newspaper's founders and their partners while pointing out that another "example of this approach is the hugely successful Lead India campaign launched by The Times of India", its strategic equity partner, two years ago.

Says the new newspaper's editor-in-chief Vuyo Mvoko, "It is wonderful that other media companies are also taking a more positive stance about this country, taking a leaf out of our book in believing there is value in mobilising SA for positive action. We believe we are making a positive contribution to the country even before our product has hit the streets."

"Our strategic partner, The Times of India, when they launched Lead India in 2008 had this to say:

'The point of this campaign is about providing every right-thinking citizen of the country a chance to step out of the comfort zone and take on the task of stewarding the nation. It is a clarion call to be the change that we expect in our society; an opportunity for citizens to shrug off their indifference and put a shoulder to the wheel.'

"The New Age believes the same goals can be achieved here in SA, and we said this at our launch function last month. These are exciting times in South Africa and The New Age is proud to be part of the positive energy sweeping the country."
