Cape Town to get premium German TV

Community television station Cape Town TV (CTV) has formed a programme partnership with German international satellite broadcaster Deutsche Welle (DW-TV), an international news and current affairs channel.

The channel will provide viewers with a variety of programmes in English, ranging from news and current affairs, magazine programmes from Germany, Europe and global society to Bundesliga (Kick off), which presents the latest happenings from the German soccer league during the season.

Programmes

Programmes run from Monday to Friday, starting at 2pm with Journal News and In Depth. The former is a 17-minute news programme that covers global hotspots, political and cultural developments, the latest from the world of sports and the most current data from the international financial markets, while In Depth, which follows, highlights a major story of the day.

This is followed by In Focus, which on Mondays, features in-depth reports of topical political and social issues. From Tuesday to Friday, it covers entertaining and informative stories involving people's lives, adventures and events. Its documentaries and reports cover business and science, culture and education, historical and present day events as well as sports and leisure. Topics are investigated in-depth and presented in an informative 26-minute format.

Programming continues at 6pm Mondays to Thursdays with Tomorrow Today: the science magazine, Bundesliga, Germany Today: Window on Germany and In Good Shape: The Health Show.
