Radio station's summer campaign

This festive season, Ligwalagwala FM's “Injalo iSummer” fun-filled campaign includes a rollout of events designed to give the people of Mpumalanga a splashing summer season.

“The Injalo iSummer campaign [launched] on radio on 6 October 2008, where listeners will be winning exciting prizes. The campaign will also be used to drive social messages around the festive season, 16 Days of Activism against women and children, HIV/ Aids, Arrive Alive and responsible behavior,” explains marketing manager Mfundo Ntsibande

To kick start this campaign, Ligwalagwala FM will host the first strictly Hip Hop Festival which will feature most local and national hip hop artists. This event will incorporate poetry and hip hop battles aimed at bringing recognition to upcoming local artists. Proceeds will be donated to a charity of the station's choice during the 16 Days of Activism. The Hip Hop Festival will be held on Saturday, 8 November 2008 at Blue Moon, Nelspruit.

To enhance the township culture in Mpumalanga, Ligwalagwala FM will bring its listeners a Car Wash Day on Saturday 15 November at Mkhize Park in Barberton. The public will be entertained with live performances from SA's top artists in a relaxed environment. The public will also see their cars being washed down by SA celebrities and Ligwalagwala DJs.

Showing off its versatility, Ligwalagwala FM will also host a Gospel Festival in Bushbuckridge on Saturday 22 November, featuring well-known gospel artists.

To end the Injalo iSummer campaign with a splash, if you cannot go to the beach, Ligwalagwala FM will bring the beach to you.

A beach party will be hosted in Nelspruit on 13 December 2008. The venue will be temporarily transformed into a beach to host activities such volley ball and beach soccer. This will be an entire day event aimed at attracting thousands of people. Top SA artists will rock the crowd; people will dance on the beach dressed in beach wear.
