Heat print run increases to 100 000

Heat's bumper Holiday Special issue racked up record sales for the celebrity and entertainment news magazine, and subsequently, the weekly print order will increase to 100 000 in February, ensuring significant visibility on newsstands with expected strong circulation growth as the year unfolds.

The holiday special sold 62 886 copies "delivering substantial added value to its many A-list advertisers over the crucial Christmas shopping period last year," according to publisher Kim Browne and, measured against a third quarter ABC of 46 734 (Jul to Sept 04), is the the brand's best-selling issue ever.

Heat's first birthday issue is the next highlight on the brand's horizon. Issue 51 (on sale 1 March 2005) will be an issue not to be missed for advertising. Tremendous hype and a larger than usual page count will ensure particularly good sales for this heat birthday special.

"The South African consumer loves heat," enthuses Browne. "It's very gratifying to see how powerful and talked about the brand has become in under a year. We look forward to leveraging heat's strength significantly in 2005."
