The redesign of the title includes new fonts and layouts, which are “stylish and elegant, but still bright and bold”.

In a claimed first for a local title, heat introduced psychic Michelle Cremer, who provides an advice column with a twist, and will help those in need of answers on boyfriend troubles, career decisions and more on a weekly basis.

Hot guys

The magazine's StarStyle section has also expanded, providing more fashion and beauty pages and there's a brand new section called Man Watch, to introduce some of South Africa's hottest regular guys.

Melinda Shaw, editor-in-chief, said that the magazine will always focus on celebrity news, but "we are constantly listening to what our readers want and therefore introduce relevant, entertaining content that sets us apart from any other in South Africa. The new changes also provide a brand new platform in the magazine for advertisers, and the feedback we have received has been overwhelmingly positive".

The new issue of heat, featuring Britney Spears on the cover, is on sale now.
