Research on science journalists indicates lines blurred

Before the 2013 World Conference of Science Journalists in Finland, an online survey was sent to scientific journalists around the world requesting their input on the 'blurring lines' between independent science journalism and science PR.

The survey received 403 responses and was debated at the conference. General outcomes of the global survey on 'blurring lines', also sometimes referred to as 'science journalism and other hats', have now been published. The first batch of full outcomes is available at a dedicated website and more will follow in the near future.

Members of the South African Science Journalists Association (SASJA) and other science journalists in South Africa are asked to participate in the ongoing online discussion at www.blurringlines.org.
