SABC: A blast from the past

NEWSWATCH: Following Clifford Motsepe's departure from the SABC board, one name that has come up as a replacement is that of former board member Noluthando Gosa, reports Times Live. Meanwhile, Anton Harber, writing in BDlive suggests that before rushing to find a replacement for Jimmy Manyi as Cabinet spokesman, the powers-that-be should take a look at the role.

  • Times Live: SABC's blast from the past... Gosa left the board in December 2005 "amid a slew of allegations of corporate mismanagement and corruption within the board," to quote Times Live, which also says that "SABC spokesman Kaizer Kganyago said he was not aware of her history".

    Isn't that a little strange? The appointment of a new board member is quite important, surely, so shouldn't KK have all the facts at his fingertips; after all, there are bound to be questions about each candidate and what skills, experience and what-have-you they could bring to the position.
