New AMASA Joburg committee announced

The recent annual general meeting of the Johannesburg branch of the Advertising Media Association of South Africa (AMASA) elected a new committee for 2009/2010.

Three new members were voted onto the new committee and AMASA chairman, Brad Aigner of FGI, provided a summary of AMASA's performance and achievements over the past fiscal. The overall 2009 Roger Garlick Award finalists were announced and the forum was given insights into this year's adjudication process and judge's comments on the standard of entries.

The members of Johannesburg's 2009/2010 AMASA committee are: Andrew Maluleka (The MediaShop); Brad Aigner - chairman (FGI); Daniel Munslow (Newsclip); Gareth Grant (Nota Bene); Hugh Farrell (Red Cherry Television); Kirsten Randall (Campus Media); Lea van Collier (Panorama); Lyn Jones (INM); Marc du Plessis (NAB); Ryan Williams (Nota Bene); Tony Koenderman (Finweek) and Wayne Bischoff (Radmark)

Aigner said that the past year saw the successful completion of milestone projects, such as the revamped website and the launch of AMASA'S Learnership Programme (ALP) in addition to the smooth running of AMASA's annual AAA Media Module, workshop, golf day and annual industry party.

Dedicated portfolios will be assigned to each person at AMASA's next committee meeting.
