Beckham the new global brand ambassador for Motorola

ILLINOIS, USA: Motorola has announced the signing of a three-year collaboration with David Beckham as a global brand ambassador, to commence with immediate effect. The deal also includes the ability to embed exclusive Beckham content - such as screen savers and video clips of the star in action - in Motorola handsets.

Says Jeremy Dale, VP of retail marketing at Motorola Mobile Devices, "We're very excited about this collaboration for ourselves, our customers and our consumers. David Beckham is a global icon and we look forward to working with him across a range of projects. In particular, we're delighted that he'll be using his immense popularity to help promote (MOTO)RED."

The collaboration will kick-off with major activities across Asia, including advertising appearances and extensive retail promotions rolled out across the network of Motorola stores and distributors throughout the region.

Beckham will also be supporting Motorola initiatives including the newly launched (MOTO)RED mobile phone created to help eliminate AIDS in Africa. Beckham will signal his public support for this campaign, in addition to his ongoing UNICEF activities, to encourage his fans to make a difference and help in the fight to combat the disease.

The agreement has been brokered by Simon Fuller's 19 Entertainment.
