Report to: Project Manager RRM
Purpose: Assist with routine road maintenance (RRM) activities on the Bakwena N1N4 Toll Highway, including maintenance of the highway, median, and road reserve areas. Provide support in storekeeping, inventories, and cleaning of equipment.

Qualifications, skills, and required competencies

• Grade 10 qualification.
• Any technical qualification is advantageous.
• Experience in storekeeping and good housekeeping.
• Valid, unendorsed Code EB driver’s licence (Code EC is advantageous).
• At least three years of supervision experience.
• Good oral and written communication skills in English.
• Strong interpersonal relationship skills.
• Physically fit to move heavy objects.
• Good administrative skills.
• Ability to supervise team members.
• Capable of meeting the physical demands of working on roads and storekeeping duties.
• Ability to drive a vehicle with a trailer.
• Willingness to provide support during incidents and accidents across the ±380km route.
• Willingness to work in all weather conditions.
• Flexibility to work overtime as required.
• Able to travel and, on occasion, live outside Pretoria along the route.

Essential duties and responsibilities

• Provide traffic accommodation to ensure the safety of motorists and work teams during roadworks.
• Remove damaged road studs and repair road surfaces.
• Install new road studs and clear work sites, disposing of debris appropriately.
• Cut trees and grass within the road reserve.
• Repair and fix road signs.
• Dig holes for road furniture posts.
• Wash and clean company vehicles and equipment.
• Perform storekeeping duties, including inventory maintenance and stock-taking.
• Safely receive and verify deliveries at the storeroom.
• Maintain the storeroom in a safe and tidy condition, both inside and outside.
• Work safely at all times in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Assist with administrative duties as required by management.
