As our news editor, you will be responsible for the following duties:

Checking facts, verify and make changes on articles, stories and newspaper
Writing editorial pieces to contribute to the publication
Providing suggestions for edits when necessary
Assign articles or stories to journalists and set deadlines
Ensure timely publication
Coordinate online or print publication cycle and manage areas of contents
Responsible for ensuring that content is clear, easily understood, interesting and accurate
Decide on the layout for publishing
Design page layout ensuring that stories are correctly placed on pages,right length, sizing photographs and placing within features
Respecting publishing guidelines

The successful candidate will possess the following:

Bachelor’s degree/diploma in journalism/communication or equivalent
Five years of proven experience as an editor
Attention to detail
Writing and language
Interpersonal communication skills
Editor skills
