You will independently lead front-end development efforts, making autonomous technical decisions and establishing best practices.

Required skills and experience:
- 5 plus years of professional front-end development experience with substantial applications
- Expert knowledge of TypeScript and React ecosystems
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and modern front-end build tools
- Advanced proficiency in HTML5 and CSS3
- Solid experience with Git and GitHub for version control
- Proven ability to optimise performance in data-heavy applications
- Demonstrated history of independent problem-solving and technical leadership
- Frontend: TypeScript, React
- Backend integration: REST APIs, Python services
- Infrastructure: Cloud deployment (AWS/Azure)
- Version control: Git/GitHub
- Development practices: Unit testing, code reviews, CI/CD
Ideal candidate profile:
- Highly self-motivated with exceptional problem-solving abilities
- Proven track record of working independently and driving projects to completion
- Experience implementing solutions for data-intensive applications
- Excellent judgment in making technical decisions
- Strong communication skills for effective remote collaboration
- Proactive in technical research and implementation of improvements
- Comfortable with ambiguity and able to move projects forward with minimal guidance
Reference number for this position is GZ60245 which is a permanent fully remote position with a business based in Port Elizabeth offering a cost to company salary of between R720k to 860k per annum negotiable on experience and ability.
