Head of Content

• To craft the content strategy of a tweens daily live show, in line with the show’s format in it’s current form and in all its successive iterations.
• Design and manage quarterly content plans for the show
• Oversee the creation and execution of special programming, branded content and content campaigns
• Develop and articulate a clear and compelling content strategy for a tweens daily live show.
• Act as the content director during live shows, ensuring the show's content is delivered effectively and according to the established creative vision. Lead the show’s content production team, design as well as manage all the content production workflows for the show as per the approved content plans.
• Collaborate with production teams to implement the creative vision effectively.
• Work closely with the post-production team.
• Integrate innovative elements into the show to enhance engagement and keep content fresh.
• Lead the creative vision, ensuring it aligns with the target audience and meets educational and entertainment objectives.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in children's entertainment.
• Continually identify the show’s format improvement areas, as guided by ongoing qualitative and quantitative research from client.
• Reports directly to the series producer.

• Bachelor’s degree in the related field or equivalent qualification in journalism, television or related field or extensive experience in a television content production leadership position.
• Extensive experience in producing a daily live and pre-recorded children’s television show.
• 10+ years of experience in content management,
• Specialising in children and youth entertainment television/audio visual content
• 10+ years of experience in a television lead production, content role
• Exceptional research and content development skills
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Expert knowledge of the SA children’s content landscape
• Experience managing a team of creative content producers in an editorial capacity
• Excellent knowledge of video production.
• Deep and demonstrative understanding of early childhood development content development and production frameworks.
• Deep and demonstrative understanding of tween content development and production frameworks.
• Experience in managing creatives department

• Excellent leadership skills.
• Exceptional collaborative skills and attention to detail.
• Must be fluent in English.
• Must have native level fluency in multiple South African official languages
• Must be conversant with television content production management software.
