Digital Content Editor

Are you a curious, self-motivated storyteller with a love for travel and a talent for writing? Do you thrive in a quiet environment, working independently and delving into research without constant supervision?

We’re looking for an Online Content Editor to join our tight-knit editorial team. In this role, you’ll contribute to ExpatArrivals.com by writing, editing, and enhancing content that people around the world rely on every day.

This role is fully remote, and applicants must be based in South Africa.

We’re a specialist travel publisher with a global focus, creating trusted, high-quality content for expats, business travellers and tourists. Our in-house editorial team produces and maintains hundreds of expertly researched country and city guides, all designed to inform, inspire, and support our audiences on their international journeys.

What you’ll do

• Write creative, engaging and accurate copy for our website and external clients
• Fact-check and update existing content
• Proofread the work of colleagues
• Source striking imagery from photo libraries like Shutterstock
• Conduct interviews and incorporate real-life experiences into our content
• Manage social media channels and grow our digital presence
• Collaborate with our advertising team to create sponsored content
• Monitor relevant news and viral content to identify new story opportunities
• Use AI tools (like ChatGPT) to brainstorm, outline, or refine content ideas

Requirements

• Tertiary degree
• One to four years of experience in journalism, publishing or content creation
• Ability to write clearly, accurately and creatively, with perfect grammar
• Detail oriented
• Genuine interest in travel, culture and global affairs
• Bonus points if you’ve lived or worked abroad
