Roles and responsibilities

As the CPT Stores Equipment-Assistant; AFDA is looking for a committed and dedicated professional to assist the CPT stores department to manage the equipment and movement thereof across all programs. The applicant should have good organizational skills and knowledge of professional camera, audio and lighting equipment.

The position requires someone who is organized, efficient and computer literate and interacts well with people. The successful candidate will demonstrate a willingness to embrace AFDA’s unique pedagogy, which is the basis of the interdisciplinary teaching at AFDA.

Essential duties and related skills include:

• Ensure that equipment for the terms teaching and term projects are maintained and functional.
• Assistance with distribution of film-gear and offering advice to the students on technical matters arising.
• Participate in working with counter-parts to ensure parity across all campuses.
• Assist with equipment handovers In alliance with the populated schedules.
• Attend open day/s.
• Providing administrative and practical support to the students, including dealing with students’ queries and training on equipment.
• Assist with accurate equipment reservation via Cheqroom asset management system.
• Assist with lost and damaged reports, ensuring accurate record keeping and filing. This includes equipment management in distribution and return in good working order.
• Assist with asset registers and statistics within the work-functions of CPT stores.
• Assist with the conduct of equipment deliveries made to CPT campus / CPT stores.
• Ability to work co-operatively with operational and teaching staff.

Requirements and personal attributes:

• Administrative competency for running the functions of all DSC, MP & Post-Graduate equipment deliverables.
• Computer literacy (Excel, Internet Research, email, MS).

Selection Criteria:

• A minimum of 1 year industry exposure.
• AFDA alumni preferential.
