As the Multimedia Content Creator, you'll develop and produce diverse media content to effectively communicate our message and engage audiences. You'll create high-quality content across video, photography, social media, radio, and TV, ensuring a consistent and compelling brand presence. You will report directly to the Communications & Marketing Manager and provide guidance and support to junior team members, interns, and volunteers as needed. Main duties and responsibilities
Content creation and production:
- Video Production: Plan, shoot, and edit high-quality videos for social media, websites, email campaigns, and TV. Ensure excellent sound, lighting, and visual effects.
- Graphic Design: Create engaging digital assets such as social media posts, infographics, corporate stationery, and website graphics.
- Photography: Capture high-quality images for digital and print materials, ensuring alignment with our branding and messaging.
- Social Media: Develop and execute content strategies across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn), including creating and scheduling posts, engaging with followers, and monitoring analytics.
- Radio Production: Produce radio content, including scripting, recording, and editing audio segments for broadcasts and podcasts.
- TV
Content:
Assist in the production of TV content, including scripting, filming, and editing, ensuring it meets broadcast standards and organisational goals.
Creative development:
- Collaborate with the Communications & Marketing Manager and team members to brainstorm and develop innovative content ideas.
- Create compelling storytelling content that engages audiences and communicates our impact.
- Develop creative treatments and visual concepts for projects, ensuring they are on-brand and effective.
Collaboration and Coordination:
- Work closely with other departments (fundraising, program management, finance) and external partners to gather content and ensure alignment of messaging and objectives.
- Build and maintain relationships with local influencers, creatives, media houses, churches, and freelancers to leverage additional resources and expertise.
- Coordinate with the Video Content Producer and Digital Marketing Coordinator to ensure cohesive and integrated content across all media channels.
Project management and reporting:
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Regularly report on content performance, engagement metrics, and audience feedback to the Communications & Marketing Manager.
- Provide insights and recommendations for optimising content strategies and improving media production processes.
Increase broadcasting reach:
- Strategise to grow and improve broadcasting (Radio & TV) in Southern Africa, accelerating CBN’s presence in these regions.
- Adjust to various cultural contexts and communication styles.
- Keep existing broadcasters informed about and supplied with new CBN content.
- Search for new broadcasting opportunities and manage the broadcast database.
- Monitor broadcasting schedules monthly and collect data on broadcasting schedules and barter value of content aired.
- Collate monthly reports on broadcasting schedules and barter values.
- Compile and renew contracts for broadcasting stations and facilitate the implementation of new contracts.
Fundraising support:
- Collaborate with the fundraising team to develop content that supports campaigns, events, and donor engagement initiatives.
- Create storytelling content that highlights the impact of donations and motivates audiences to support the organisation.
Team cohesion and learning:
- Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and collaborative projects to foster camaraderie and unity.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in multimedia content creation, and share knowledge with the team.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the organisation's ethos, values, and mission in all content and interactions.
Global Collaboration:
- Work with CBN’s global media teams to produce and share content that aligns with the organisation’s global strategies.
- Coordinate with regional media teams to ensure consistent messaging, branding, and quality standards across different locations.
Reporting:
- Main reporting responsibilities include providing weekly content updates, monthly performance and broadcasting reports, and comprehensive quarterly project reviews.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Multimedia Production, Video Production, Digital Media, Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications or coursework in video production, graphic design, or social media marketing is a plus.
Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in multimedia content creation, including video production, photography, and graphic design.
- Proven experience managing social media platforms and creating engaging content.
- Experience in radio and TV production is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
