Brief overview

As the director of analytics, you will be responsible for overseeing a cross-regional team of analytics solutions architects, supporting them in delighting clients, and growing the company’s reputation in the industry.

You will oversee the technical development and delivery of your team (aiming for consistency and efficiency), and work with the EMEA head of analytics to evolve the measurement proposition to meet the needs and aspirations of the company’s partners.

You will be personally responsible for overseeing the technical outputs of the motivated team of specialists and ensuring that your team has the necessary skill sets to deliver offerings for their clients.

Primary minimum requirements

Strong knowledge of:

• Analytics platforms (Google Analytics 4, Adobe Analytics et al - essential)
• Tag management systems (Google Tag Manager, Tealium et al - essential)
• Data layer design and implementation
• Consent management platforms (CMPs)
• Firebase or similar app measurement platforms (advantage)
• Reporting and data analysis (e.g., Looker Studio, Tableau, Power BI)
• Google Marketing Platform (SA360, CM360)
• Server-side tracking and tag management
• Data privacy including solutions and privacy readiness initiatives such as advanced consent mode, enhanced conversions, and first-party mode
• Offline to online integrations
• SQL (advantage)
• Ability to navigate BigQuery and Google Cloud (advantage)
• JavaScript, CSS, and HTML skills
• Spreadsheets - Google Sheets/Excel

Troubleshooting skills:

• Support and coach teams to resolve technology/platform problems, reporting discrepancies, tracking issues, and other tech-related issues affecting campaigns.
  Examples include:
  • Data discrepancies in Google Analytics
  • Data discrepancies between Google Analytics and integrated platforms, including BigQuery
  • Google Tag Manager and website tag troubleshooting
  • Confidently debugging GTM tagging

Additional knowledge and skills:

• Knowledge of digital marketing strategy/online acquisition channels and attribution
• Ability to create an enterprise-level measurement framework and plan
• Ability to establish and maintain best practices in analytics and measurement
• Ability to adopt and help evolve processes that lead to high standards of analytics delivery
• Ability to identify operational and capability gaps and propose solutions to clients and internal teams to address them
• Provide training to internal and external teams, including but not limited to Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, digital privacy, measurement approach, and strategy
• Knowledge and understanding of analytics implementation, data analysis, data science methods, and CRO, enough to explain them to clients if required
• Strong project management skills
• Strong presentation skills

Primary required certifications

• Google Analytics 4 qualification
• Google Tag Manager certification
• Privacy certification (Google Privacy for Agencies, or similar)
