As a business development representative (BDR) at Social Places, you will play a vital role in driving business growth by identifying and qualifying high-quality B2B leads. Using your sales expertise, you will prospect, engage, nurture leads, and generate opportunities aligned with our solution offerings. You will collaborate closely with the sales team to nurture and close qualified leads, helping shape the future of our customer base.
Key responsibilities
- Prospect new business: Identify, research, and engage potential leads using outbound techniques, including cold calling, email campaigns, social media outreach, and networking.
- Lead qualification: Qualify inbound and outbound leads based on company fit, need, and readiness to engage with our solution (using BANT, MEDDIC, or other methodologies).
- Build relationships: Develop rapport with decision-makers and influencers to highlight the value of the Social Places platform.
- Sales pipeline development: Maintain a consistent flow of qualified meetings and opportunities in the sales pipeline.
- Market research: Continuously research target industries, company profiles, and prospect needs to refine outreach strategies.
- CRM management: Track and update sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline progress using CRM tools (HubSpot).
- Consistent outreach: Conduct high volumes of outreach activities, such as calls, emails, and social engagement, with personalised and relevant messaging.
- Sales enablement: Use tools like LinkedIn Sales Navigator and email automation platforms to enhance engagement efforts.
- Five or more years of B2B sales experience
- Key skills/experience: Prospecting, qualifying leads, handling objections, negotiating, and navigating sales cycles.
- Proven track record of meeting targets, including experience with cold calling, emailing, and social media outreach.
- Familiarity with lead qualification frameworks like BANT, CHAMP, or MEDDIC.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Excellent phone manner, concise and compelling email writing skills, and strong conversational abilities.
- Experience in setting and managing meetings or demos
- Expertise in using CRMs to manage pipelines, track leads, and automate workflows.
- Proficiency with LinkedIn or other prospecting tools.
- Goal-oriented with strong self-motivation
- Demonstrated history of meeting or exceeding quotas while independently driving sales activities.
- Comfort with handling objections
- Active listening, quick thinking, and objection-handling techniques to maintain momentum in conversations.
- At least five years of B2B sales experience, preferably in SaaS or tech-related industries.
- Strong ability in solution selling, consulting with prospects, and addressing business needs.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with proven relationship-building capabilities.
- Successful track record in prospecting through cold calling, emailing, and leveraging social media platforms.
- Proficiency in CRM tools like Salesforce or HubSpot.
- Strong negotiation and closing skills with experience managing complex conversations.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and accountable for achieving sales targets.
- Tech-savvy with knowledge of sales enablement tools like LinkedIn Sales Navigator and email automation platforms.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to balance lead nurturing and consistent prospecting.
- Experience in social media, digital marketing, or SaaS industries.
- Familiarity with sales methodologies such as SPIN Selling, Challenger Sales, or MEDDIC.
- Knowledge of social commerce, customer engagement, or reputation management software.
