Her duties involve the coordination and production of analysis and reporting on the South African office, retail and industrial market, developing an understanding of the key factors that drive developer confidence, tenant occupancy trends, vacancy trends and rental rates. In executing this she coordinates the data collection and various technical analyses processes.
Makhoba is responsible for JLL's Thought Leadership papers, which aim to provide pioneering ideas that assist in the understanding of the current market, developing a long-term outlook for commercial real estate sub-sectors or shaping change in current practice.
Makhoba has over nine years of experience in economics and market analysis, having worked in the public and private sectors of the economy. Her career began at Investec South Africa as a research analyst in corporate business development. She established herself as an economist whilst at Econometrix, a prominent South African economics consulting firm.
Prior to joining JLL, Makhoba was employed at the South African Revenue Services'(SARS) Large Business Centre where she worked as a specialist economist in the revenue, risk and intelligence department. Makhoba's experience in commercial real estate began at Rand Merchant Bank where she worked as a commercial real estate credit analyst for a brief period.
