Sizakele is the CEO and founder of Marutlulle + C/o, a strategy and ideas practice which through intersectional business strategies, helps Pro-Africa companies, launch, compete, win and prosper. She has a keen focus on women entrepreneurs, and resultantly invented the term FentrepreneurTM, to refer to a special breed of woman leader who is ambitious as well as compassionate - and is (in her estimation) the secret sauce to Africa's future growth.
Sizakele cut her brand-building teeth by working on the Inaugural Election Campaign that ushered in South Africa's democracy in 1994, as well other transformative national projects such as the re-branding and repositioning of Eskom, South African Tourism and South African Airways among others. Sizakele was also the lead architect of the Pan-African campaign to reposition ABSA/Barclays across Africa. Additionally, time spent in the USA presented her with opportunity to meet and learn from such advertising greats as Byron Lewis of Uniworld, N.W.Ayers & Partners, Chiat Day as well as McCann-Erickson New York.
Having worked as both a strategic marketer with commercial savvy and leader of multinational ad agencies, including HerdBuoys-McCann and Grey South Africa, she brings this unique purview, her deep international and continental experience as well as rich consumer insights to every assignment.
As advisor and consultant, she applies the experience amassed across Africa, in the Americas, as well as her working knowledge of Asia and Europe to help businesses and brands at different inflection points to thrive in their chosen fields.
She is a frequent world-traveler and highly sought-after key note speaker, writer and contributor on matters of brand, diversity and leadership. When she is not solving for businesses and brands, she invests much time mentoring and coaching the future-wave of female African leaders.
Sizakele holds an MA in Communications Sociology and is currently pursuing a PhD in Diversity Studies at the University of the Witwatersrand.
