Part of Proudly SA's mandate is to encourage South Africans to "buy local" by supporting and buying local products to help stimulate the local economy and create jobs.
Proudly SA staff, together with partners and local celebrities will be distributing thousands of South African flags.
Well known South African artist, Vusi Nova will perform live outside the station in the Piazza and will sing several songs off his new album "I Did It For Love". Zinto Activation Group, (a Proudly South African member) will provide additional entertainment.
Patriotism passports from the department of Arts and Culture will also be handed out at the Gautrain's busiest station which is located in Sandton.
This campaign is an initiative to educate South African not only to buy local, but also to support our local industries and local artists.
As this year's event also falls within the 20 Years of democracy, Proudly South African also plans to roll out similar events in the Gauteng area under the banner of "patriotism and social cohesion" in partnership with the Department of Arts and Culture.
