NAB Cape awarded sales and marketing for Ilanga and Umafrika

Extending its current portfolio of handling Ilanga and Umafrika's sales in KwaZulu Natal and Gauteng, the Newspaper Advertising Bureau (NAB) has been awarded the sales, marketing and booking functions for these two papers in the Western Cape.

"These two papers are the leading players in KwaZulu-Natal's black market arena and it was a natural progression for NAB to take over the representation of these two titles, offering our national advertisers a simple and consistent solution for all their advertising needs," says Gill Randall, Joint Managing Director for NAB.

Currently, Ilanga is sitting at a weekly circulation of 98 492, a combination of the Monday and the Thursday broadsheet editions, and is read by 555 000 black readers on a weekly basis. Embracing all the emotional and functional associations of the Zulu nation, Ilanga, a solely owned black company, remains the best medium to get closer to one of Africa's biggest nations.

With a print order of 27 500 every Friday, Umafrika, owned and edited by Cyril Mdladla, focuses on the educated and informed reader in the KZN province.

Umafrika provides content on social issues, sports, entertainment, health and unemployment. The tabloid weekly edition caters for commercial activities from tenders to legals through to sponsorship, promotions, general advertising and recruitment. Umafrika focuses on the educated black market in the KZN province in their language, culture and class, thereby enhancing relevance for any product, service or brand associated with this publication.
