Parmalat churns in the awards at Dairy Champs

Parmalat SA affirmed its prime position as a quality driven brand in the dairy industry by reaping the most awards of all entrants in the prestigious annual National Dairy Awards held on April 21 – heralding much needed good news for the local company.

Of the 65 SA Championship classes Parmalat clinched 19 first places, compared to the closest runner-ups. Parmalat also dominated the Qualité Awards, winning four of the thirteen accolades.

"Uncompromised quality is the bedrock of the Parmalat brand across all categories we compete in," says David Green, group marketing manager. "This is the commitment we made to consumers and the trade in South Africa. We are delighted that an independent body has acknowledged our consistent delivery of quality, as it is a huge motivator for even greater achievements in the future.

"All of us at Parmalat have worked so hard at maintaining our brand promise
of quality, yet we will not rest on our laurels. We view our achievements at
the National Dairy Championships as a sure and solid foundation to grow the brand to new heights in South Africa."

The Qualité Awards awarded to Parmalat in the following categories were:
1. Novelty Dairy Ice Cream: Parmalat Royalty Vanilla Ice Cream
2. Innovative Butter: Parmalat Reduced Salt Butter
3. Mature Cheddar, Age 8-9 Months: Parmalat Mature Cheddar
