ComutaNet has branded what it reckons to be the largest billboard in the Southern Hemisphere. At 600m², the First National Bank (FNB) wall-mounted billboard, situated at Johannesburg Park Station, has surpassed the Coca-Cola billboard in Sydney, and that makes it the largest billboard in the Southern Hemisphere the agency says.

The agency says the illuminated billboard can be spotted by road users driving along Rissik Street and Nelson Mandela Bridge as well as by more than 7.8 million Metrorail and Business Express train users travelling through Park Station every month.

The billboard promotes the bank's smart cheque and savings account but what is claimed to be a unique feature, and one that is of particular significance to many commuters, is the clock counting down to 2010. The clock's aim is to communicate FNB's sponsorship of the tournament.
