Primedia Broadcasting announced its latest restructure yesterday, 1 July 2009. The restructuring entails a revamp of its creative and production teams that will now all fall under the new 'Production Unit'.

The unit will encompass the online, copy, Club VIP, engineering, video and traffic teams as these six departments handle all the production in the broadcaster's Johannesburg studios.

The changes come with a number of staff moves on all levels.

As of July, promotions manager Simon Parkinson will be officially positioned with one foot in sales, and one in the production/programming side of the business. He will be more involved in the selling of promotions, and will be the one point of contact for the sales team in devising and managing the promotions for Talk Radio 702 and 94.7 Highveld Stereo.

Chief operating officer, Ryan Till expressed confidence in Parkinson's ability to bridge the sales and project management of this key part of the company's business.

The new Production Unit manager is Lulama Mqina, who was previously the content manager for 94.7 Highveld Stereo and Talk Radio 702. All six production departments will now report to Mqina, who has proved she is a natural leader in the team.

Creative manager, Paulo Dias, will keep his title, but gains responsibility for the standard of creative output for the entire unit. Part of his new role is to produce consistently world-class content and to ensure regular promotions are injected with fresh energy.

The final move is for Club VIP administrator, Conny Magoshoa, who will be the new production unit co-ordinator, assisting Mqina to ensure the increasingly complex campaigns are executed across all platforms.

Till commented that the changes felt like a natural evolution, " I am confident that this structure will improve the delivery of solutions to advertisers, and make Primedia Broadcasting an even better partner to our clients."
