Worldspace debuts in movie

WorldSpace Satellite Radio had made its movie debut in one of Bollywood's most awaited Hindi movies for 2006, Lage Raho Munna Bhai- a sequel to the 2004 super hit Munnabhai M.B.B.S. The story concerns a bad boy falling in love with the voice of a high-spirited radio jockey from WorldSpace's Radio Jhankaar.

The movie, which opened on circuit nationally at Nu Metro theatres on 1 September 2006, sees Bollywood's bad boys, Munna (Sanjay Dutt) and Circuit (Arshad Warsi) back with tummy aching comedy as "Dadagiri" meets "Gandhigiri".

The DJ's effervescent "Good Morrrrning Mumbai" makes Munna's heart skip many beats. Jhanvi, (played by Vidya Balan), is also smitten by Munnabhai's rustic charm. But there is a small problem - she thinks the gangster is a history professor.

Shot at the WorldSpace Satellite Radio Studio's in India, Jhanvi uses her position at the radio station to help Munna spread the message of Gandhism. The movie paves the way for a new age philosophy that is geared to address some of India's overwhelming social problems and issues.

Comments Hamza Farooqui, MD of WorldSpace Southern Africa. "WorldSpace identifies and supports the values recognised in this movie."

The movie is produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra and directed by Rajkumar Hirani.
