Coricraft supports Dreamfields Project with soccer sponsorship

Coricraft's sponsorship of five junior soccer teams at a recent Dreamfields soccer tournament in Bosmont, Johannesburg was testimony of the company's commitment to invest in local communities.

The Dreamfields Project is an ongoing initiative with the Gauteng Department of Education to facilitate soccer tournaments between local development teams and build the sustainability of the sport in primary schools throughout the country. The R60 000 donated by Coricraft, went towards the sponsorship of full soccer kits for the participating schools that included Bosmont Primary, Wesbury Primary, Barnard Ivy Primary, TC Esterhuyzen Primary and St. Theresa Primary.

The Coricraft Kariba Boys, Coricraft's official soccer team, also participated on the day, spending time training the enthusiastic youngsters and sharing in their love of the game. "We are thrilled to once again be part of the Dreamfields project. These tournaments are fantastic events filled with great football and positive feelings. The children take such pride in their skill and certainly need the proper gear to with it," explained Ronelle Berry, marketing director of Coricraft.

Coricraft first got involved with local soccer development when, in support of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, it raised money for football upliftment in previously disadvantaged communities. "Soccer plays an important part in the lives of our staff - it is a team game that builds team spirit and we intend to support the sport and initiatives that support it," concluded Berry.
