Only three years after its successful opening in 2009, this shopping centre is expanding in response to demand from both shoppers and retailers.

Bandile Nyembe, Pan Africa Shopping Centre manager, says the new expansion creates increased retail variety that will go even further to meet the consumer needs of Alexandra residents and everyone who shops here. "We're proud to give customers even more choice, value and one-stop shopping," reports Nyembe.

The centre is part of the Presidential Alexandra Renewal Project. Pan Africa DevCo, a company formed by Tebfin Developments, in partnership with local entrepreneurs and the two main taxi associations in Alexandra, ATA and ARMSTA, own it.

"It has surpassed all expectations and has become a strong catalyst for further new investment and development in its community," says Tebogo Mogashoa of Tebfin.

Having successfully completed the leasing of the mall's 60 original stores, including Alexandra's first Pick n Pay, specialist retail leasing company Retail Network Services was called upon to lease the new extension.

"The centre has successfully delivered top-notch shopping. National retailers are taking note of the centre's success and see the mall as an all-important key to access this increasingly valuable market," explains Gavin Tagg of Retail Network Services.

The mall is registering steady, sustainable growth. "Based on this, we plan to expand again in the near future. We will grow with community and retailer needs," confirms Mogashoa.
