    New categories for kalahari.com

Kalahari.com has added seven virtual stores to its product offering with baby; homeware; appliances; luggage; pets; tools and outdoor categories.

"The launch of the new categories is timely, as more South Africans are shopping online for a wider range of products," says Liz Hillock, head of marketing at kalahari.com.

"The company has been at the forefront of the local eCommerce industry for the last ten years and we have seen how shoppers have become more comfortable with transacting online. Not only do they realise the convenience of buying books, DVDs or games online, they are migrating to higher value items, such as consumer electronics, knowing that these will be delivered safely to their door. Now that South Africans have shown us how savvy they are, extending that convenience to everyday essentials such as homeware and baby supplies is a logical step in meeting consumers' shopping needs."

The retailer says it is confident that the new categories will prove popular with shoppers and will contribute even more to the growing South African eCommerce industry. The categories are now live on the website and come with various launch specials. The retailer offers free delivery on orders over R250 and a 24-hour delivery service on selected products.
