Ackermans Club magazine gets a new look

To celebrate Ackermans' 95th birthday, New Media publishing has launched a sleek, new-look Ackermans Club magazine in a 100-page September/October issue in a handbag-friendly size, replacing the former A-Plus magazine.

Megan Perks has been appointed as fashion editor, having had previous retail fashion experience, her own successful clothing label and presented at industry events including Fashion Week and Design Indaba. Under Perks' direction, the increased fashion footprint includes excellent editorial shoots, must-have trend information, dressing tips and, this month, top South African and international model Joelle Kayembe on the cover.

"The retailer's customers, who love its children's and baby wear, often overlook the women's wear in-store," says editor Leanne Feris. "We recognise women as individuals, not just as mothers. We haven't lost the essence of the brand and we know that family and children are central to the lives of its club members but now we can give them that and more."

The new magazine coincides with the recent launch of the new store card and is posted to Club members six times a year.

Ackermans recently renewed its contract with New Media, after a successful 13-year relationship, reflecting its continued confidence in one of South Africa's leading content marketing agencies.
