Latest filmmakers guide now available

Film Event Management South Africa launched the seventh edition of its film marketing publication, The Filmmakers Guide to South Africa, at The Showroom Restaurant in Cape Town last week. Published in association with the National Film and Video Association, this publication markets SA internationally through highlighting local production and service companies, directors and creatives.

Around 180 guests – from the NFVF, Cape Film Commission, Gauteng Film Office, Provincial Government Western Cape, City of Cape Town, executive producers, producers and production personnel from film production and service companies, and film suppliers and film-centric hospitality and tourism suppliers – were treated to an onsite inspection of Platinum Place's Harbour Edge apartments before walking through the investment cars in the Bloomsbury Showroom and then hosted at The Showroom Restaurant.

Film Event Management also launched a tree planting initiative for the film industry in association with Food and Trees for Africa.

The Filmmakers Guide allegedly has distributed 38 500 books internationally and locally over a seven-year period; it reports that its monthly digital newsletter reaches over 17 500 people worldwide. The 2008 edition may be purchased by emailing . The retail price is R 180.00 excluding VAT.
