FHM seeks SA's sexiest media planner

Is Starcom's Traci Hampel still the Sexiest Media Planner in the land or is there another bodacious industry rival to take her crown? Voting has opened for this year's FHM Sexiest Media Planner 2004, a fun trade promotion allied with the magazine's massive 100 Sexiest Women in the World poll brought to you by AXE.

"It's a light-hearted brand-activation exercise that brings the essence of the FHM 100 Sexiest poll directly into the minds of agency folk," says publisher Kim Browne. The winning media planner will get the full star treatment and be made to feel as special as any of the glamorous female celebrities who regularly feature in the magazine: an exclusive FHM-like photo shoot with stylist and make-up artist, a day of pampering at the spa, and a cash prize of R5 000.

Introduced at a brace of celebrity-studded industry luncheons this month, the FHM Sexiest Media Planner 2004 has already attracted a flurry of SMS votes. Hampel, last year's winner, said it was an amazing feeling "to take this industry accolade as a woman in my 30s". Hampel's age demographic was matched by that of 2003's poll topper Halle Berry, also in her mid-30s, who was the oldest international winner yet of FHM 100 Sexiest.

The FHM Sexiest Media Planner 2004 competition closes on Wednesday 5th of May so get your cell phones out to register your vote now. Anyone in the South African advertising industry can win and you may send as many SMS votes as you like. Only one name per SMS is permitted. SMS your media planner's name to 34112.

SA's Sexiest Media Planner will be announced at this year's FHM 100 Sexiest Women in the World 2004 Party, brought to you by AXE, at the Cape Town Castle on Saturday 22 May.
