Moonlighting shoots its 1000th commercial in SA

Production service company Moonlighting Cape Town recently shot its 1000th commercial in South Africa.

The commercial in question was for Paradox, Norway, which came with director Gaute Hesthagen to shoot its Bravida spot for agency Apeland.

The milestone shoot happened in Moonlighting's 20th year in South Africa. “Seeing the number 1000 written on the cake really brought home to me how many productions this actually meant; how many clients, how many laughs, tears and triumphs. It has been one hell of a ride!” says MD and founding partner Philip Key. “Thanks to all the thousands who have made it possible!”

Celebrations for the big 1000 included one shoot day of free lighting, camera equipment, film processing, car and truck rental and a complimentary night for four of the Paradox team at the luxury Tintswala Atlantic Lodge.

Moonlighting Commercials was founded in 1989 and is a production service company with offices in Chile, Romania and South Africa. It claims to be the first production company to have brought international commercials shoots to this country.
