Job description:

We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Assistant Manager and Barista to support the daily operations of our coffee shop. In this role, you’ll work closely with the Coffee Shop Manager to ensure smooth service, maintain high standards, and motivate our team. Your leadership will be key in creating a welcoming environment for both customers and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in managing daily operations, including opening and closing duties
• Lead, train, and support baristas and other team members
• Ensure consistent quality in coffee and food preparation
• Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly
• Manage inventory, including ordering and stock control
• Oversee cash handling and daily financial reconciliation
• Assist in staff scheduling and ensuring optimal coverage
• Uphold cleanliness and safety standards throughout the shop
• Step into the Manager’s role when needed

Desired experience and qualifications

• Previous experience in a supervisory or management role, preferably in a coffee shop / retail or similar environment
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Passion for coffee and commitment to quality
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
