Our client in the automotive (trucking) industry is seeking a regional sales manager to join their team in Kempton Park.

Requirements:

• Tertiary sales qualification
• Minimum five years' experience in a similar role
• Code 8 licence and own vehicle
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PPT
• Experience in the commercial/truck industry

Duties and responsibilities:

• Oversee company policies and procedures within dealer businesses to ensure specialist knowledge is available to support sales and aftersales departments.
• Monitor training available to the dealer network and ensure consistent attendance by branch and dealer staff.
• Assist dealer principals in developing training plans to upskill staff and strengthen teams.
• Participate in relevant training programmes and mentor internal staff, ensuring backup plans are in place.
• Maintain positive staff morale at dealers and branches, addressing any issues that could harm the company’s brand.
• Manage work efficiently with clear communication and promote a high-quality work ethic.
• Support dealers in achieving one hundred per cent of vehicle sales targets.
• Manage financial budgets and assets, ensuring operational costs, such as travel and vehicle use, stay within budget.
• Monitor dealer debtors' books and ensure timely payments for parts and vehicle stock as per company policies.
• Oversee vehicle asset management and ensure return assessments are conducted.
• Visit dealers in the region at least six times a year, providing feedback and addressing concerns.
• Help dealers develop and follow through on business plans aimed at improving all areas of their operations.
• Assist dealers in resolving business issues using the PDCA cycle and collaborate with the head office on solutions.
• Work with the marketing team to ensure successful implementation of marketing strategies at the dealers.
• Manage customer complaints and assist branches and dealers in retaining key accounts.
• Act as a specialist within the dealer network, offering knowledge in specialised segments.
• Participate in industry forums to stay updated on industry needs and share insights with colleagues to optimise sales.
